PROJECT AT A GLANCE
Client: Orangetheory Fitness
Architect: KS Architecture
Location: Torrance, California
Type: Group Fitness Center

Orangetheory Fitness was looking for its first location in the Southbay and found its home at a small new development at the corner of the busy intersection of Hawthorne and PCH. A 2,850 sf space, adjacent to Rock'n Juice and in the same development as Verizon and Pieology, Orangetheory Fitness took the lower anchor space in the building on the hard corner building. The space was designed to hold up to 36 members at a time by reserving equipment that they would be training on prior to working out. The equipment consisted of 12 Freemotion Treadmills, 12 Water Rowers and 12 strength training areas with TRX bands, weights, medicine balls, ab dolly's, and Bosu. 6 TV's compliment the workout with visual aids for the members that show both the proper form for the exercises as well as each member's individual heart rate. A new development was completed in the summer of 2015 and Orangetheory Fitness opened its doors on August of the same year to the highest franchise opening on the West Coast.
